Orange Cat

Orange Cat has entered the Alpha Testing phase. Orange Cat is a Defined Named Diagnostics and Remediation Utility for use with Microsoft Excel workbooks.

Orange Cat was developed to be independent from the Microsoft Excel run-time environment. This allows for more robust remediation of corrupt defined names in Microsoft Excel workbooks than that offered by some utilities built upon the Visual Basic for Applications language.

This means that Orange Cat could allow you to salvage files that, due to their corrupt defined name content, may no longer open properly in Excel. It also means that you can stay productive as its independence from the Excel run-time means it does not need to tie up your Excel session for remediation purposes; you can carry on with your work on other Excel files while Orange Cat cleans up the defined names in the corrupt workbooks.

Silver Mouse

Silver Mouse has entered the closed Beta Testing phase. Silver Mouse is a utility which allows you to rebuild Microsoft Excel workbooks from a reference copy of the file that may contain corrupt or redundant content such as corrupt defined names and styles. This allows you to ensure you always have the cleanest and most stable version of a workbook at your disposal.

Silver Mouse also offers you the opportunity to try and salvage files that may no longer open properly in Excel or that may manifest symptoms of corruption such as file bloating and various error messages such as the "Too many different cell formats" error.

Pink Bear

Pink Bear is a new product that is currently in early stages of development. The aim of Pink Bear is to provide an easy way to map circular references in complex Microsoft Excel workbooks.

Intentional circularities are used extensively in the Financial Serices Sector and, although they can be very useful for solving problems such as certain types of interest calculations, etc. they can also have adverse effects on workbook calculation times and calculation results if they are not implemented correctly. One of the biggest problems with circularities is that they can cause serious calculation anomalies when they overlap, i.e. when more than one circular calculation depend on the same cell reference.

Pink Bear will offer fast and accurate mapping capabilites off all circularities in a workbook with the added benefit of highlighting where potential problems might be caused by circulrity implementations.
